The majority of the ancient residential houses, workshops, and stores still standing on the banks of the rivers have remained unchanged for centuries, lending an atmosphere of antiquity to this ancient town. Bridges, canals, water chambers, etc. almost everything there has stories about the past.
Inside the water town, we will take a boat ride to arrive at the west side of the watertown(RMB120) which is totally off the beaten path and then visit the famous Foot Binding Museum. Foot binding existed in China for over 1,000 years. In feudal Chinese society, a pair of tiny feet was regarded as the biggest treasure a woman could possess. The museum displays 825 pairs of foot binding shoes from various regions of China, as well as many pictures and foot binding tools.

Program is 8hrs. Guide will meet you at your hotel.
