Weiqi (Go in Europe and Baduk in Korea), has been developed in China between 3,000 and 4,000 years ago. It contends with backgammon for the right to be called the oldest game still played in its original form.
Weiqi is an intellectual but fun game, it is the greatest strategy board game of all time and helps to improve one's concentration, calculation, memory and creativity. It develops one's systematic thinking skill and a good sense of judgement.
The game is played by two players, Black and White, placing black and white stones on a 19x19 board of intersections. When a group of stones is surrounded, it is captured. Both players try to control more of the board than each other. Faced with such simple rules and yet such high complexity, even the best computer engines cannot defeat professional go players.
The course is targeted at beginners, you will learn about go through a comprehensive course of strategy, tactics, history, and tradition.
